THE CAREER COURSE

EXPERIENCE A THOROUGH, HANDS-ON INTRODUCTION TO FLORAL DESIGN, CREATING OVER 20 HANDS ON PROJECTS OVER 6 DAYS.

Are you looking to learn the fundamentals of floral design, in 6 days - and not in a year or more - like traditional college courses?

Do you want to acquire the practical skills necessary to enable you to start working in the industry right away?

Are you keen to learn in an intimate environment, with plenty of tutor support?

If so, our flagship UKSOF Career Course could be just the course for you.

Our UKSOF Career Course consists of six days of hands-on learning, and upon completion, you will have a thorough, practical foundation to the essential skills required to work in the floral industry. Over the duration of the course you will be taught by a selection of tutors, including Joseph Massie. We feel this is valuable to new students, to ensure you discover a variety of styles, enabling you to formulate the basis of your own floral design style (Joseph often refers to this as your ‘design vocabulary’).

Our team of tutors will demonstrate beautiful floral designs each day, showcasing techniques, methodology and theory, and you will then have hands on experience to replicate those designs, making a minimum of 3 pieces of floristry each day. A minimum of 20 modules of floral design will be achieved during the course duration, allowing time for several theory sessions to be completed during the course also.

As with all of our courses, we’ll be working with the season’s best materials, including British grown flowers and foliages, sourced directly from our local growing partners when the season allows. Single use plastics (for example, anchor or pot tape) will be kept to an absolute minimum.

At the UK School of Floristry we prioritise somewhat ‘traditional’ facets of learning. In our teaching, we aim to enrich you with techniques, methodology and floral design theory, all three of which are essential for you to be able to craft your own floral designs after the course. All of our tutors at UKSOF have worked extensively with Joseph, a five time RHS Chelsea Gold Medal winner, and who recently (September 2024) won the British Florist of the Year's UK Florist of the Year, a pinnacle of floral design achievement.
