What time do the classes start?

Floristry classes in the week start at 9.30am and finish at 4.30 pm
Sunday Floristry classes start at 8am and finish at 4pm
Recreational classes start at 10am and finish at 4pm

Where can I park if I drive?

We recommend that you drop off your workbox at the school and then park on the Leisure Centre Car Park. This is on Rectory Fields, Wilmslow, SK9 1BU. This is approximately 5-10 minuets walk away. At the end of you course you can then bring you car to the school to load up your designs (of which there will be 3)

What about lunch and is it provided?

Lunch is not provided (have you ever tasted Ian's cooking?) We do provide you with tea/ coffee throughout the day and of course biscuits There are many cafe/bars very close to the school as well as supermarkets. We have a one hour lunch break

How many items will I make?

Three items in total to take away with you, plus a further three items demonstrated. Remember if you are on a week's course that's 15 items to take back to the shop

What do I need to bring?

On Floristry courses
A work box with Knife, scissors, secretors, twine, pot tape, stem tape, a selection of wires including decorative, camera.

Recreational courses
Please bring a pair of scissors/ secretors if possible.
Flowers & sundries are provided on all courses.

Will I be out of my depth?

We aim our courses at all levels of ability so beginners are just that. Ian's relaxed yet informative style of teaching can reassure beginners and stretch advanced florist and fellow tutors depending on the level of course

Will Ian take the class or will it be a member of staff?

If Ian's name is on the course then he will be there. When we have a guest designer then the same applies for them.

On the five day beginners course will I be able to open a shop?

This 5 day course is aimed to show you many facets of shop life, so that you would be of use to a florist shop in a junior role, but to open a shop is a huge reasonability and more training would be necessary.

I have been working in a shop for a few years and feel I just do the same things, what course should I go on?

Any of the floristry courses with the exception of the beginner's courses as you will be too advanced for those.

I am not a hands on florist but a shop owner/manager do you have a business course?

Yes try our Down to business course. This Sunday workshop has been developed for owner/managers such as yourself.

Where can I park?

There are a few on road parking spaces by the shop but we recommend the local pay & display car park a hundred or so metres away.

Will you do a one 2 one workshop on a subject not covered by the school yet?

Yes we will if it falls within our expertise, the price will be on application at the time

Can I take photographs?

Yes of course, if it's of your own work

We have a shop with 6 or more members of staff, would you come and train in our shop?

The answer is yes, we can tailor make a programme to suite you as well

How can I pay?

By Cheque, Credit/Debit card over the phone, your booking fee is £50 per day if you are booking our 5 day workshop then the booking fee is £200

Are there any Health and Saefty Requirements?

We advise you to ensure you have an up to date tetanus jab before joining our courses, due to handing scissors and wires etc.
Please wear comfortabe footwear, but NO open toe style shoes.
